The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has registered the two appeals of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, that of “house arrest” and the dismissal of the judge in the case.
In the announcement of the Special Court of Appeal, it is also stated that the panel consists of judge Iliriana Olldashi.

The former prime minister is suspected of the criminal offense “Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials”, committed in collaboration.
According to the SPAK file, Berisha favored his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, for the privatization of the former Partizani Sports Complex.
Both Berisha and Malltezi have opposed the accusations and described the investigation as orchestrated by Prime Minister Edi Rama. Also, Berisha and his supporters have described this measure as an attempt to annihilate the opposition.
The request for the replacement of the measure of arrest was made after Berisha refused to implement the previous measures of the obligation to appear and the ban on leaving the country, considering them to be unconstitutional.
