The Socialist Party has demanded disciplinary measures for 19 opposition MPs from the Ethics Commission, after the chaos created in the last plenary session.

The majority demanded disciplinary measures for the deputies: Albana Vokshi, Sorina Koti, Elda Hoti, Lindita Metaliaj, Isuf Çela, Tritan Shehu, Lefter Gështenja, Helidon Bushati, Xelal Mziu, Edmond Spaho, Oerd Bylykbashi, Ervin Salianji, Saimir Korreshi, Kasem Mahmutaj, Ramadan Likaj, Kastriot Piroli, Qani Xhafa, Lodovik Hasani, and Luan Baçi.

They accused them of blocking the lectern and causing chaos in the hall by means of noisy devices, infringing and hindering the orderly development of the session.

“Deputies of the opposition placed sounding devices in the hall, namely deputy Ervin Salianji was holding a sounding device in his hand, which did not allow the Speaker of the Assembly to proceed normally with the agenda. Even though he asked the MPs to sit down and continue the session normally according to the agenda, they continued to block the lectern”, the filed request states.

They also state that the scenarios hindering the parliamentary activity by the opposition MPs continued in the Special Commission for Electoral Reform on January 26, blocking the hall where the meeting was to take place and not allowing the majority MPs to sit in their seats.

“Deputies Albana Vokshi and Lindita Metaliaj took the place of the two co-chairs and addressed the deputies of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party in high tones. This created situation of blocking the hall by the opposition MPs forces the meeting not to take place physically”, claims the majority.
