The Constitutional Court has made the decision on the agreement between Albania and Italy for refugees.
It is learned that the Constitutional Court has approved the agreement, voting 5-4, in favor of the “Rama-Meloni” agreement.
The Constitutional Court examined today (January 29) the request of 30 opposition MPs, from Berisha’s and Bardhi’s groups, who request the annulment of the agreement.
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Deputies in Italy has approved with 155 votes in favor, 115 against and two abstentions the draft law on the ratification of the Italy-Albania agreement for immigrants, which foresees the opening of two CPRs in the Albanian territory, to receive 3000 immigrants.
We recall that the agreement signed in Rome on November 6 of last year, between the prime ministers of the two countries, includes immigrants who depart from North Africa and are caught at sea by Italian ships.
It envisages the establishment of a point in Shengjin where the procedures for verifying immigrants will be carried out and a center in Gjadër, where they will be kept isolated, until the end of the procedures for accepting or not accepting asylum.
The responsibility for any activity will be that of Italy, which has full jurisdiction over the reception center.
