The head of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, calls for the return of the opposition to the Assembly. Invited to Breaking in Top News, regarding the debates on the co-direction of the Electoral Reform Commission, MP Duka said that the product is more important than the composition.
The Electoral Reform Commission is meeting with the deputies of the SP and those of the official DP.
Do you think that decision-making will be achieved by these forces, or will there be all-inclusiveness as recommended by internationals?
“The Electoral Reform cannot be unilateral. A lasting reform is made when there is a consensus of the main parties. But for me the product is important. It is good that the 4 points proposed by us are also supported by the Basha group and some other deputies If this is achieved, it becomes of secondary importance whether or not there is a composition of all parties. If Basha does not withdraw but reaches these points, it would be a success for the entire opposition”.
Will you join the protests from Monday that MP Noka announced, or will you participate in the commissions?
Duke: I won’t be here this month for a family matter. But the opposition action cannot continue indefinitely. Parliament must return to normal life.
What is being achieved with these extreme actions?
I will go to the Electoral Reform Commission, if it takes place physically, but not online, like we are shopping at the supermarket.
Analyzing the causes that led the opposition to this situation, Duke mentioned how
extreme action leaving the parliament. Duka emphasized that without the removal of Berishēs and Basha from the leadership, the opposition has no chance of coming to power.
“Rama sewed the suit according to his body. He is 2 meters tall, his suit does not fit us. He did the Electoral Reform, as he wanted, and we are still in those conditions. If the opposition does not unite around an agenda, there is no possibility of coming into the government.
Berisha and Basha must surpass themselves for the sake of the opposition, they must leave the leadership.
The duke also gives suggestions for overcoming the crisis and uniting the opposition.
“To appoint 3 or 4 coordinators, to set the agenda, to coordinate the relations with the internationals that we have very weak. Terrible mistakes were made earlier by the opposition”, said Duka.
