Tirana today hosts the Regional Summit on the Growth and Convergence Plan with a focus on the integration of the Western Balkans towards the European Union, as well as the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
While waiting for the participants in the summit in front of the Concert Palace, Prime Minister Edi Rama had a remote communication with some Italian journalists present in the media area.
One of the journalists asked the prime minister about the costs that will be covered by the Albanian government in this agreement and his answer was that the issue of costs is completely Italy’s.
Rama’s reply to the Italian journalist
Journalist: Why so generous with Italy?
Rama: Why not!
Journalist: This generosity has a cost of 100 million euros in 5 years for the security that must be guaranteed by the Albanian police outside the camps.
Rama: The issue of costs is Italy’s issue and it is dealt with.
Journalist: Did it turn out that Beccheti requested the blocking of these 100 million euros?
Rama: I don’t know who Beccheti is.
Journalist: Is there a risk that after 5 years when this agreement ends, if there is another government in Albania, the agreement could be cancelled?
Rama: I can’t predict it.
