Former president Bamir Topi gave a different interview for the “Interview” show on Euronews Albania.
He has stated that before there was more idealism in politics.
Topi emphasized that his life has been endangered 3-4 times.
“I have a very positive assessment of my colleagues from that period. There was a lot of idealism then. There were many different challenges to face. We also faced events that could cost us our lives in ’97-’98. It’s not one and two, it’s more than three or four times. It was a very difficult period, but the people were of better quality. Today really seems to be a different period, when you have technology and a different standard of living, but I see that the level of democracy imposed this political format that we have today,” he said.
