The decision of the Central Election Commission of Albania to remove Fredi Beleri from the post of mayor of Himara, to which he was elected but never sworn in, ends a 14-month cycle of irregularities by the government of Edi Rama with the aim of discrediting the ethnic Greek prisoner, who is also an MEP representing Greece’s ruling New Democracy.
Marin Suli, the general secretary of Omonia, said that the biggest problem that Rama has is actually not related to Beler’s figure at all, but to the daily screaming looting of properties.
