Fredi Beleri left the premises of the Fier prison this morning, after the permission approved the day before by the Commission of the Directorate of Prisons, as he will go to the European Parliament to be sworn in as an MEP.
Now at noon, Beleri has arrived in Athens, where he was greeted with hugs, applause and cheers. Speaking to the media in Greece, he stated that “now even in Albania they say that I am innocent”.
While there was also a message for the Himariots, stating that “they have Greece as their mother”.
Fredi Beleri sees his confrontation with justice in Albania as an unfair trial, stressing that his adventure is coming to an end, while ensuring that he will continue the fight for freedom.
“I am happy and excited to welcome back my people. I am proud to take office as an MEP to fight to protect the rights of our country. To thank the Greek Prime Minister for the faith in his election, he proved that he is the leader of all Hellenism and protects all Greeks wherever they are. Also, I want to thank my close associates, all those who supported me, the media who stood by me at the first moment in this unfair trial. My adventure is coming to an end, but the fight for freedom, rule of law continues. And the Albanians themselves say now that I am innocent, I am not the only one who supports him”, Fredi Beleri said specifically in his first statements from Greece.
