The father of the new European champion and Barca star Lamine Yamal was stabbed on Wednesday evening in a car park in the town of Mataró, about an hour and a half from Barcelona where Mounir Nasraoui lives.
He received serious injuries, so he was sent for more specialized treatment to the emergency room of the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, as reported by the local media.
According to the information, the policemen who are investigating the attack on him have arrested three people who are accused of “attempted murder”. Statements of eyewitnesses were also taken, who say that Munir received “more than one stab”.
The three arrests were made around 22:30 on Wednesday night thanks to descriptions of the perpetrators provided by eyewitnesses.
Although it is still not clear why Yamal’s father was attacked, Catalan media point out that a few hours before the bloody incident he was involved in a fight with several people while walking his dog.
According to the same sources, some people threw water on him from a balcony and as a result a fight started between Munir and the residents of the building, which ended after the intervention of the municipal police officers who were in the area.
