The former Minister of Finance and Economy, Arben Malaj, has denounced a scandal that is taking place in post offices at the expense of pensioners.

In a post on the social network, Facebook, Malaj brought the case of a pensioner, who says that he is taxed 10,000 old lek every month by the post office.

According to Malaj, something like this is intolerable and in flagrant violation of the law, since this service for pensioners is free.

Malaj goes on to say that the theft is not being done by the state, but by the employees, or as he calls post office thieves, while demanding that the responsible authorities take measures to prevent this anomaly and the open corruption that is taking place at the doors of state institutions and at the expense of ordinary citizens.

Arben Malaj’s full post:

Don’t steal pensioners! It’s scary to think that the vast majority of employees at every level of government and in every institution justify the theft of pensioners and citizens, as a right they give themselves.

In this case, the state is not stealing pensioners. But the thieves in the post offices, who keep 1000 lek from pensioners who collect their pension at the post offices. When this service is free.

It is not the only case…

Hello,

Mr. Arben. I am from Novosela in Vlore.

Now I am writing to you because of a concern, a real concern

The Albanian post, without the right, taxes pensioners with 1000 lek per month. Is this right??

The whistleblower is absolutely right – withdrawing the pension directly to the post office is free.

The first step requires maximum transparency for free services.

In every post office, the distinguishing board of ISSH must be placed. Pensions are withdrawn free of charge.

Second, post offices should be audited periodically.

Thirdly, every complaint should not be investigated.

We must stop this sense of self-righteousness that feeds the epidemic spread of corruption.
