After two years at the head of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku has resigned.
It is learned that the resignation was submitted to the Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, who called a meeting with all the police leaders the next day (September 6).
According to sources, Rrumbullaku has delegated the powers to Sokol Bizhga, currently the Deputy General Director of the State Police.
During the meeting, which is Ervin Hoxha’s first since he took the post of minister on July 28, the new police law is expected to be discussed, mainly for the selection procedure of the police chief, local directors. These positions with the new law will be selected by commission.
Muhamet Rrumbullaku took office on September 7, 2022 and led the State Police for 2 years.
Who is Muhamet Rrumbullaku?
Muhamet Rrumbullaku graduated “Senior Police Specialist” in 1988 at the Police Academy, Tirana Faculty of Law and received the title of Lawyer in 2010.
Rrumullak has attended several trainings, certified in Albania, the United States of America and Hungary.
From 2019 to 2022, he held the position of General Director of the Service for Internal Affairs and Complaints at the Ministry of the Interior.
