“Creating a new party is like stepping into the sea under the conditions of Albania”. This is what the historian Elena Kocaqi expressed, as she presented the Albanian National Alliance, which according to her will be a party of all the people, in the “Diary with Erion Dushin” on A2 CNN. According to her, this came as a necessity at a time when the current 30-year-old policy has left this country hopeless, as they have put the party over Albania.
“I have been trying to do something for a long time, but it is impossible, because the old political class will not do something just to serve it. I have always felt that Albania has shortcomings at this point and I cannot do things to see only my career. Ms. Kocaqi does not accept orders that put the party above Albania, the current parties always put the party above Albania or equalize it. Albania is here, but today’s parties are here, tomorrow they are not. You feel sorry when you see hopeless people; 35 years of the same policy and rhetoric, insults, insults. For those of us who love Albania, it pains us to be here when the people have no alternative”.
She sees the political situation in the country as worse than at the time of the dictatorship or Louis XIV in France and emphasized in A2 that the main goal is the breakdown of this political system.
“Closing the lists is anti-democratic. They have taken this country from the people. Everything. We are worse than Enver Hoxha’s dictatorship and Louis 14. People are pessimistic. There is a civic obligation to offer yourself as an alternative. Within the system, you have to break the system, if the people come out en masse to vote, they have nowhere to go. There is nothing worse than what these people have done. We need democracy from below. The people must decide by referendum. They have taken power from the people even with the constitution. We would prefer open lists and to break this system that divides the people”.
Kocaqi emphasizes that her party aims for merit and in its governance, the Minister of Finance will have to be the best financier of Albania.
“The Minister of Finance will have to be the best financier in Albania, but I would establish by law that he would be better paid than the Prime Minister and the President because he has an important position. The private sector hires the most expert people, while the state hires the ignorant. It cannot be governed like this because it is a scientific technical process. As a group, we want to focus on merit”.
Considering the left or right positioning as criminal, Kocaqi emphasized in A2, that her party has the national interest and all Albanian citizens first.
“We take it as a public initiative to enter the political market, there will be representatives of the Diaspora, districts, intellectuals. We are bound here in the national interest. The position of the left and the right is criminal because you have excluded the people of other layers. The government should be for all Albanians and to protect the interests of the citizens. There is no left or right politics, but for all citizens. If it is not like that, it does not belong to the citizen, but to a group of people”.
In her speech, she ruled out the possibility of creating a Bektashi state in our country, as the constitution and criminal code do not allow it.
