The General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, has given orders to his subordinates regarding the protest that the opposition will hold today, which has announced the blocking of several main roads in the country.
Proda has asked subordinates to be careful and not to be provoked by the protesters and to keep calm. Proda requested that interventions be minimized only in cases of need and that no provoked clashes be created.
The chief police asked them to be careful with the lists of names of people who have precedents and be kept under surveillance. One requirement has been to document all illegal activities. Also, Proda has asked to ensure the circulation of vehicles and other citizens, who are not protestors.
Yesterday, in an official announcement, the State Police stated that every citizen has the right to assemble, but that blocking roads is a criminal offense.
