The end of the mandate and mission of the KPK and the Public Commissioner also brings an administrative move from the government.
The government decided with the Council of Ministers at its meeting on December 13, to transfer the offices of re-evaluation of judges under the administration of SPAK and the Ministry of Justice, this because from January 1, 2025, the competencies of the Public Commissioners will be taken over by the special chief prosecutor Altin Dumani.
The end of the mandate of the public commissioners Florian Ballhysa and Irena Nino at the end of this year, is also followed by the taking over of the baton by the head of the Special Prosecution, who will represent the appealed cases in the KPA.
This decision comes with the end of the mandate of the Independent Qualification Commission and the Public Commissioners, which both merge on December 31, Report TV reports.
The mandate for the continuation of the Vetting in the second instance expires in June 2026. Meanwhile, during the 6-year triple control process, in the first instance of Vetting, 805 officials were checked, of whom 268 were not confirmed in office, not counting about 100 of them who resigned.
Currently, 42 judges and prosecutors remain to be reviewed by the KPA, after having been appealed. Meanwhile, in the Strasbourg Court, it appears that 130 dismissed judges and prosecutors in Albania have filed lawsuits.
