Former MP Lefter Maliqi has stated that the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office had sent a letter to 2 national TV stations, stating that it had initiated criminal proceedings against him, after he had made a public appeal to Ervin Salianji to stay in prison, as he could be poisoned.
Maliqi made the comments on the show ‘Dita Jonë’ on A2 CNN, where he said that former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri is sick after his prison sentence and therefore invited the media to conduct tests.
He also said that since he had previously held the position of Deputy Director of Prisons, he knew very well that cold weapons, drugs and poison were being put inside food.
“Do you want some latest news, since we are in the media? The Tirana Prosecutor’s Office sends a letter to 2 national television stations, telling them that we have initiated proceedings against Mr. Maliqi because I made a public appeal to Ervin Salianji to ‘beware of food, lest this regime introduce some poison and end up sick like Saimir Tahiri’.
Since Tahiri is sick, take him and have him tested. There is no panic here at all, this is an individual appeal. I was a deputy director of prisons and I know very well that hidden pistols, knives, drugs or poison are introduced into food. This is a regime that must be dismantled”, said Maliqi. (A2 Television)
