Sali Berisha has defended his decision to “donate” 8 parliamentary seats to allied parties, which will be part of the grand coalition in the May 11 elections, which includes a total of 27 entities.

According to the leader of the Democratic Party, these 26 parties represent a third of the Albanian electorate.

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has answered journalists’ questions regarding the coalition that the DP formed with 25 parties for the May 11 elections.

Asked if he is afraid that his allies might betray him along the way, by joining forces with Rama, Berisha said:

“We have invited all those political forces that consider Rama the greatest evil for Albania to join us. This is unity for the main cause.

We have also invited other parties that have not come, for reasons that they will explain to them during the campaign. “To consider yourself an opposition party, you have to feel like one and you have to have the freedom to feel it, of course this coalition, indeed the DP has given 8 seats on the guaranteed closed lists, but the democrats should know that these 26 parties in total represent a third of the Albanian electorate, despite the fact that taken separately they are modest parties. But together they have an electorate of hundreds of thousands of votes.”
