Dashamir Shehi, co-leader of the coalition with Enkelejd Alibeaj’s “Djathtas 1912”, showed on the show “Të Paekspozuarit” on MCN TV that the reasons why the right remained divided are purely Albanian. He told of cases when they told him that they did not come with him, because he is in coalition with Alibeaj and he expressed ironically that he was not married to her, but it is a political alliance.
Andi Tela: What were the reasons why you remained divided?
Dashamir Shehi: Albanian reasons. Someone wants to be the first on the list. For example, these two gentlemen were elected with a closed list, while our main motive was the open list. Now how will we return to the closed list?! We made the open list a matter of principle, not for interest. I am 60 or so years old, I have been in parliament 6-7 times and I enter the same way with my spokesperson. I’m entering the race, with the one who is 30 years old, because I think this is the principle. We will compete, we will approach the citizens.
You want the closed list to say that you have secured a handful of votes for yourself and find useless reasons, not us here. Some people say to me: Do you know why we don’t come with you, Dash? Why? Because you are with that Alibe. It’s useless, what, are we going to be married? Do you think I married Alibe? This is a political alliance. No, he was with that one, no, this one. All the reasons.
