Toni Gogu spoke about his life, his work as a pastor, lawyer, life in the village, his involvement in politics and his race for a second term as a member of parliament.
Mr. Gogu tells how he moved from religion to politics in 2017, to which he has dedicated the last few years.
“We Protestants have a saying: “God finds us, we do not find him”. It was 1990 when I came into contact with the holy scripture, the Bible and the people who practice it.
At that time, there was only an evangelical community in Korça. These are the beginnings of my faith, in a local church called Rilindja, with missionaries from other countries.
I was a pastor from 1994 to 2001 as an active member of the Church. But I am a lawyer by training.
I started studying law in 1991. I graduated in 1994, and I worked briefly at the Ministry of Finance.
I left my job in 1994 to work for a while as a pastor in the Church. We moved to Peja with my wife and children in 2017.
Then for some time I worked with an international organization, until the holiday came for me to get involved in Rama II government, as deputy minister of justice.
I have been a member of parliament for four years, now I am running for a second term,” Gogu said for Dritan Hilë’s Shqip në Dritare TV show.
