The former chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, met with his structures in Vlora today.
In a statement to the media, Basha said that Albanians deserve more than “the old tango that wants to hold them hostage”, stressing that he will not stop on the way to give them the alternative they lack.
“I wish that our structure, which is ready and has started work for the future campaign, will be presented to the Albanians as an alternative with the logo and stamp of the DP”, said Lulzim Basha.
Asked if he will create a new political party, Basha implied that this will depend on the decision of the Supreme Court, where he appealed the decision of the Appeal that gave the seal of the Democratic Party to Sali Berisha.
“If the bargain and the conspiracy, not just against the democrats, but against the Albanians, will make this impossible, the Euro-Atlantic democrats will be in the elections, the program and the list of our candidates will not be denied to the Albanians”, he said.
Basha added that until the Supreme Court gives the decision, we will continue the work, as he emphasized that “we will reject any scenario that the Albanians are locked in the equation of the old, the prime minister or the former prime minister.”

Basha: The political party exists, we have the structures, the organization, we have the people, the program, what is being discussed is the name. How long will you wait?
Basha: We will not wait a second, we will spend all this time unfolding this alternative to the citizens. We will continue our work. We will reject any scenario that locks the Albanians into the old equation, the prime minister or the former prime minister, this is not an alternative for the Albanians.
