The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, during a communication with journalists, said that the opposition continues to be in action, either in the Parliament or in the municipal councils.
Asked if the opposition is united, Meta said that it is important for the opposition to have a better coordination, in the Assembly, municipal councils and the presentation of a comprehensive alternative in the future.
According to him, the tightening of measures against opposition MPs is unacceptable and shows the government’s fear.
“I do not speak on behalf of the entire opposition, because I believe that the opposition is in a continuous dynamic. On Thursday, we will gather the leadership community and we will express our assessments and the approach that the opposition should have for the current situation and the perspective. The opposition action has not been banned either in the parliament or in the municipal councils.
The tightening of punitive measures is unacceptable and shows a degradation of this hybrid regime, of this autocratic regime, of this regime that is terrified of the free speech of the opposition, of accountability. These show that the opposition is in constant action, just as it is under constant aggression and must face it with a comprehensive approach.
I speak on behalf of PL, I cannot undertake to speak on behalf of the opposition. But what I can say is that the opposition needs a more comprehensive approach, the opposition needs a better coordination, in the Assembly, municipal councils and the presentation of a comprehensive alternative in the future”, said Ilir Meta.
