Argita Malltezi spoke about her commitment to the Democratic Party and the possibilities for her to be at the head of it on “Çim Peka Live” on SYRI TV.
Asked by journalists if they are forcing him to enter active politics, Malltezi emphasized that PD will not be inherited but will be won by competition.
Are you being forced into active politics?
Maltezi: Why did we come to this point? Edi Rama seeks to cover his corruption by waging war against the man who accuses him and more than anyone else has been vocal about his corrupt affairs, PPPs, incinerator, sterilization, check up and so on. For the loss of 70-80% of public money that is allegedly tendered and it is not known where it goes and SPAK acts as an ideological sickle against a man, who today has 30 m2 more apartment than he had in communism, while the one who holds flag of anti-corruption through SPAK, Edi Rama, has a garage with a 57 m long foundation and a 5 thousand m2 yard. Sali Berisha has been saying for 3 years, please investigate me and bring me a proof that has to do not only with me but also with my children and I leave and the other one at the same moment that the investigation started by Zana Xhuka, the head of the ILDKP for the house, dismissed Zana Xhuka.
Clearly this is a political battle and in a political battle people cannot stand aside. So I have never even wanted to engage in this form of politics, I am a PD activist and I consider it a very good motivation for anyone who engages in a political party regardless of the spectrum, it shows the citizen’s responsibility and I, moreover, have the emotional aspect that I militate in DP, but I never aspired to be in its leadership, I do not aspire to this day to be in its leadership, at any level of leadership. Absolutely, I will do whatever I have to do to put justice in place. And I don’t go back. Politics is not my goal, but the fight to bring out the indisputable right that it is. I will do whatever is necessary to straighten things out from where they have fallen. If I have to carry a bucket of water, I will carry a bucket of water, if I have to do much more I will do much more, I will do what is necessary.
Even if it will be necessary to be in charge of the DP?
Malltezi: I never wanted the PD, this great force, to be represented by inherited institutions. And I do not accept it even today and I would not accept such a thing even today. If this ever happened, I would go around Albania to reach it and convince people, and if I didn’t convince people, I wouldn’t do such a thing. I said that there is no complex to say and do this. I think that the DP has capacities in its structures that meet all the criteria to do it, I am ready to support anyone but I will absolutely do everything as much as I can so that things go to the right place.
