The former mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, answered the moderator’s question whether there were negotiations by the government to hand over his mandate and be released from prison.
According to Beler, this happened in the first week in a meeting with key partner officials, where it was offered to his son or brother to choose one of them to become president and to resign and get out of prison.
Question: During the time you were in the cell, were there negotiations with you to hand over your mandate and be released?
Beleri: The first week in a meeting with officials from our main partners, my brother and my son told me at the table, choose one of you two to become the chairman since we will not let him, resign and get out of prison. I have not accepted it. Everyone knows it in Athens and Tirana. During these 16 months, I always had offers to resign from the mandate in exchange for my freedom.

Question: How is it possible that Edi Rama only got personal with you and not with your family.
“Edi Rama is clear that he would not leave the DP municipality to the opposition, he has nothing personal with me. He was the next fraud”, said Beleri for Syri TV.
