Former President Bamir Topi said that he has not had any communication with Sali Berisha for at least 12 years.
Topi told Euronews Albania that during the time he was working with Berisha, he had a very official and serious communication.
According to Topi, Berisha has created his political school and remains loyal to it, but added that now times have changed.
“I haven’t had any kind of communication with Berisha for at least 12 years. As for getting to know him, I got to know him before the 90s, in other non-political circumstances.
I have divided Berisha into two parts in terms of his figure. During the time that I was in cooperation with him in DP, it was a very serious cooperation.
Even my relationships were not relationships dominated by social communication, it was simply official. So they have been deeply serious, cooperative, political.
Then there was politics, political interests, I was out of political interests because I was head of state, I was interested in big things for Albania.
It was time to part ways. There is no one who does not change. Berisha has created his own political school and remains loyal to his theses and his way of communication, but it’s a different time,” said Topi.
