As it was announced today that their homes will be demolished, 6 families, consisting of 32 people, are protesting and opposing the decision, as their properties are affected by the Thumanë-Kashar highway. They emphasize that they have not been compensated and are not in the compensation scheme.

Some of the family have climbed the terrace of one of the houses and are threatening extreme measures.

The family members have warned that they will be sprayed with gasoline and set themselves on fire if their demands are not taken into account.

Residents denounce that they have been deceived and that only families who have paid money have entered the compensation scheme.

“They kicked us out. We want compensation or housing. We don’t run away from here. I’ve got the petrol bottle ready, I’m going to burn here. They have been coming around our house for two months. The state has not taken any measures. Even when we went to the police station, they drove us away.
We are 6 families, 40 people”, says one of them.

“At first they told us that they would reward us, then they told us that you will not get anything. We have not received any notification. A report came yesterday telling us to vacate the house immediately. We are looking for accommodation. We have nowhere to go, we are in the open sky. We have children where will they live? Those who paid got it, we didn’t,” says another.
