Democrat Jozefina Topalli has reacted to the release of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, from house arrest.
Topalli: Today is a day of hope and determination. After 350 days of injustice, Sali Berisha showed that when a person has the right and courage in his heart, neither isolation nor pressure can break him.
But this is not the end, it is the beginning. Now is the time to win against the mafia and corruption that has gripped Albania. It is time to liberate justice, to protect the future and to restore the dignity of a nation tired of injustice.
Sali Berisha, a force of nature, although 80 years old, faced 350 days of house arrest, without any evidence and in the face of a clear political process to weaken the opposition.
But, even locked within the four walls of his house, he did not stop. From his window, every day, he inspired and inspired Albanians with his strength of character and the belief that injustice cannot win.
Berisha showed that when a person has a cause and a strong heart, neither age nor isolation can break him. He surprised friends and opponents, becoming a symbol of resistance and hope for change.
Deep gratitude goes to those courageous citizens who for 350 days, in rain and sun, protested in front of his house, standing on the side of justice and against injustice. This solidarity is proof that the power of the people is greater than any corrupt regime.
