“I left Albania. He is too dangerous for the state to tighten too much, because he will do the same thing again.
We couldn’t stay there, risk ourselves again. He will continue to try to escape as long as he lives. I feel endangered and threatened even here where I am.
No one from the state has come to our house”, said Alketa Hysa.
How did the massacre happen?
Dan Hutra, a former convict for the murder of his wife in 2007, committed the first two murders at 12:30 pm on March 1, 2022 in Kodër Kamëz. A person with multiple criminal records who had just been released from prison. But apparently he had not reflected on the serious crimes he had committed, causing a massacre.
He killed her sister Mevlute Hysa, 30 years old, in the yard of his former roommate’s apartment. He also left the fiancee of his ex-partner’s brother, Hasime Dafku, 30 years old, dead. Also injured were Kujtime Hysa, his ex-wife’s mother, as well as Alketa Hysa.
Not far from the scene of this event, a few hours later another murder shocked public opinion.
In this case too, the victim was a woman. She turned out to be Etleva Kurti, who was shot inside the yard of her parents’ apartment in Kamez. Etleva Kurti is the sister of Vladimir Kurti, who is serving the sentence for the murder of the businessman Agim Buci and the wounding of his wife, during an attempt to rob a market.
Dan Hutra was a person with endless criminal records in the family and in 2007 it turns out that he killed his first wife with a knife, an event that happened in Kukës.
As reported, he stabbed his wife Dafina Havalja, who was only 25 years old at the time, twice in the heart. But it seems that this was not the first violent act that Dan Hutra had committed within the family. After he is said that before marrying Dafina Havaljan, he was convicted for the deprivation of liberty of his mother and sister-in-law and the attempted rape of them, crimes for which he is said to have committed only 3 years of imprisonment.
While he returned to the cell again in 2007 as the murderer of his first wife, a crime he also admitted before the court. He said that he was the killer of his wife, Dafina, for whom he stated that he had stabbed her after they had argued and that he had done everything unconsciously.
