Analyst Mentor Kikia says that Ilir Meta’s political career is over.
Speaking to MCN Live, he stated that the fate of the Freedom Party is inextricably linked to Ilir Meta and that the damage done to him does not make him an alternative.
“Politically, he has been damaged enough that he is no longer considered an alternative by Albanian citizens.
Unfortunately, that expression has been installed that when we say party, we say Lenin, and when we say Lenin, we say party.
The leader is automatically the party and there are no structures under him, but there are humble people.
In Albania, parties are not democratic, they do not have decision-making structures and the moment the leader is damaged politically, the party is also damaged.
With the attack on Ilir Meta, rightly or wrongly, the party has also been automatically damaged.
Mr. Rama in the government, the entire mechanism that he has used to remove responsibility for accused ministers and former ministers from himself, has qualified them as the personal responsibility of individuals, and has certainly protected the party.
In no country with so many bricks removed from the government, would he have resisted. Rama has chosen to protect himself as well as the party.
The Freedom Party absolutely has its fate linked to that of Ilir Meta.”
Among other things, Kikia added that both Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha, who are in judicial investigation processes, enjoy all the rights and freedoms like any other citizen and that in the end, if they receive a sentence, there are legal forms of prohibition against being part of the electoral process.
