In a television interview for Syri TV, former president Ilir Meta declared for the first time that Monika Kryemadhi is no longer his wife.
Ilir Meta added that legal procedures have been initiated for this issue, as he says that he has also spoken with the children about this.
“Monika Kryemadhi is already my ex-wife and today I followed the legal path for this matter and I also informed my son Besar Ilir Meta”, Meta said among other things.
Ilir Meta’s breakup with Monika Kryemadhi doesn’t come like a bolt from the blue. The couple has long had not only political, but also family disputes.
Ilir Meta has often accused Kryemadhi of seriously damaging the party he left behind when he was appointed president, by abandoning mandates.
The political divorce between Meta and Kryemadhi was formalized at the Convention of April 27, where, with the statutory changes, Monika Kryemadhi was excluded from the party’s forums and is now only an ordinary member.
The chief of that time declared that he would not fight, but would only commit himself to the family. Since then, Kryemadhi has been separated from political life and has only made an appearance for the media from the Presidency of the Assembly, where he submitted legal changes to the law on the status of a deputy.
Recently, on his way out of the premises of SPAK, the former president issued a stronger statement about his ex-wife, that she had taken the money, while he himself only did politics.
