The former number two of the Freedom Party, Endrit Braimllari, left this political force, but has expressed his willingness to join the Socialist Party in the May 11 elections.
Braimllari said to the media that he wants to make his contribution with a left-wing force, such as the Socialist Party.
Asked if he has an offer from the ruling party, Braimllari replied that so far he has not had an offer, but said that he has no problem starting where he started 19 years ago.
He says that he sees his engagement in politics as an opportunity to support citizens and to be as close to them as possible.
Asked if there is a possibility of returning to the Freedom Party, Braimllari said that it is now part of the past, leaving no possibility of returning.
“In the next parliamentary elections, if the necessary space is created, I would prefer to contribute to a left-wing force like the Socialist Party. “I see my involvement in politics these years as an opportunity to support citizens,” Braimllari told Panorama Online.
Have you had any offers to join the Socialist Party?
Braimllari: No, I haven’t had any offers, I know it will seem strange to you, but I am passionate about politics and I see it as an opportunity to advance my passion. I have no problem starting where I started 19 years ago at the polling station. I see politics as an opportunity to be as close to people as possible, as an opportunity to be interested in them.
Is there a chance that you will return to the LSI, now the Freedom Party? Or have the paths with this political force been closed?
Braimllari: In 19 years of involvement, I have very positive moments as well as bad moments, but these now belong to the past. Now I have to look to the future and in the next elections there are two camps facing each other, one right and one left. I will prefer the left!
