The mayor of Mat, Agron Malaj, resigned this Tuesday, and the Municipal Council approved it.
The reason is related to his decision to run as a deputy in the Dibra Region in the May 11 elections, which apparently has received the support of political leader Blendi Klosi and Prime Minister Rama.
Malaj is not the only mayor who will be in the Socialist Party’s candidate team.
It is learned that Ervin Demo, the mayor of Berat who also has the political leadership of this region, will also be a candidate and will follow the same procedure as Malaj by resigning.
Termet Peçi of Tepelena is the third mayor confirmed to be leaving his mandate as the first citizen of this municipality to be on the lists of candidates for deputies.
