The deputy of the Democratic Party, Flutura Açka, addressed a question to her fellow deputies, through a post on social networks, after the failure of the meeting of the Electoral Reform Commission today, which was then held online.
“Are we or are we not for opening the lists of MPs?”, she writes, emphasizing that every MP should be asked this question publicly, and prove to Albanians how much their skin is worth.
She states that the problem of the Albanians is not whether or not there are 140 deputies in the 2025 elections, but the problem is to have the opportunity to choose the best, to preserve the health of Albanian democracy.

Are we or are we not for opening the lists of deputies?
This is the public question for every member of the Albanian Parliament today. I would beg the media to ask each of us this question publicly.
Let’s prove to the Albanians how much our skin is worth to each of us.
All other words – political or not – are garnishes hiding the essence of the debate. One side wants to open up and give the opportunity to Albanians to decide for their own voters and the other side wants to maintain the status quo, that is, its own chair.
Whether or not we are the 140 deputies in 2025 is not the problem of Albanians. The problem of Albanians is to be able to choose the best, to preserve the health of Albanian democracy.
Others are selected:
Diaspora vote, constitutional obligation
Removal of the early, constitutional obligation
1 constituency
Electronic voting
Personally, even though I was on the safe list in 2021, I was not comfortable wearing that straitjacket of votes. Since I did not know clearly at that time the essence of the election method, if the 2025 lists are not opened, I will hesitate to enter the scenario of the 2021 elections.
It is a scenario for the power of mayors and the removal of the power of Albanians.
Let them remove us with a free vote!
