Prime Minister Edi Rama has broken his silence regarding the accusations made by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj. After the meeting of the Assembly, in a statement to the media, Rama said that those who have issues with justice have them with justice.
“The question you ask me is pointless, there is only one answer. SP does not comment on issues related to justice. Anyone who has issues with justice has them with justice. There is a characteristic of all those who have issues with justice, that I feel victims of dark forces or other forces, but it is not at all, for me and for us, to explain this phenomenon”, said Rama
To the question of whether he threatened Ahemtaj as he claims, the head of the government said: “SP is very clear about its position, you can ask as many times as you want, but it is our duty to give justice all the opportunities do his own work, untroubled by the influence of the executive power or even untroubled by the comments of those who represent the SP”.
We recall that the former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, in search of the issue of incinerators, appeared in an interview for Syri Tv, where, among other things, he claimed that he was threatened with his life.
“I have been threatened three times by unknown people. Once on the phone from prison, twice directly. When the threat reached the woman who was carrying my child, I did not let her run away like a great brave. The last time was near the lake, where I had a house for rent.
They were politically inspired, to tell the prime minister ‘to be a widow in this’ or to say that ‘if I were a prosecutor it would be worse’, who will threaten me”, he declared.
Excerpts from Rama’s speech to journalists:
– Should you take a position on the two accusations that were made by the former number 2 of the government, Mr. Ahmetaj? Perhaps a position and a comment about those accusations and for the citizens and members of the SP since Mr. Ahmetaj, at least officially, is still a member of the SP?
Prime Minister Edi Rama: Now, for the citizens, don’t worry because you must be very sure and sure that we know how to read the opinion of the citizens better than anyone else because we are not only in the territory with the citizens, but above all from for many years we have scientific instruments through which we evaluate citizen opinion, we conduct regular surveys for citizen opinion on every issue. We conduct focus groups continuously to understand what the citizens’ concerns are, what the citizens expect from us, what criticisms they have for us, and we conduct focus groups with citizens who vote for us, with citizens who do not vote for us, and so on. .
So don’t worry about the citizens, they are very clear and they are always clearer than us, that you are and yes because the citizens are always dealt with, the Albanian citizens, as I have said and repeat whenever I get the chance, are politically an extremely interested and extremely olfactory community. They know very well how to separate the fluff from the essence and for the questions you ask me, it is a redundant, useless, repeated question that has only one answer. The Socialist Party, I and all of us do not comment on issues related to justice and anyone who has issues with justice has them with justice. There is a general characteristic of all those who have issues with justice, that they feel victims of dark forces or other forces, but it is not at all for me and for us to explain this phenomenon. Whoever has problems with justice should solve them with justice. No one is exempt for any reason. I have been very serious since the first day when I said: we want a reform in justice to finally pave the way in an Albania where there has never been justice, a justice that is outside the influence of the executive power and this we we achieved it today, but it is an irreversible achievement, therefore we will continue to govern to make this achievement irreversible, being the ones who guarantee justice, which is free to act, has free hands to act on whomever and for whatever reason justice believes that X, Y, Z, left, right, center, under or over, side or back must answer before justice.
– Did you threaten Arben Ahmetaj in the presidency meeting? That he claims that afterwards the threats also went to the family and turned into life threats.
Prime Minister Edi Rama: The Socialist Party is very clear about its position. You can ask as many times as you want, you can comment as many times as you want. It is your freedom and right to comment on anything, but it is our duty to give the judiciary every opportunity to do its job undisturbed by the influence of the executive branch, and even undisturbed by the comments of those who represent the Socialist Party.
– A comment on the accusation that you were the strategist of the country’s cannabis because it comes from the one who was your closest collaborator.
Prime Minister Edi Rama: The Socialist Party does not comment on the comments of anyone dealing with justice. This applies to everyone and this will not change. Fortunately, today we have a new day in the still long journey of justice in Albania and on this new day we have a reference point which is the anti-corruption structure built precisely to make possible what until yesterday seemed impossible and we are the Socialist Party that our mission is to make possible things that for others were impossible or things that many seem impossible today all day long, but step by step everyone will see and everyone will believe that the time when the party’s flag , of any party, whether it was a fig leaf or a sheet to cover the shadows on the body is dead.
