The deputy of the Socialist Party, Erjon Braçe, has reacted in relation to the company Kurum, which closed the factory, leaving around 500 unemployed people.

Through a post on Facebook, Braçe says that this company “can’t make us fools”. According to him, toys with bankruptcy or economic difficulties should end.

As he says that this company has not made a loss for a single year, the socialist deputy raises the question: “Where have the profits gone?”.

“Kurum can’t make us fools! Kurum can’t take this place! Toys with bankruptcy – this time the economic hardship must end! Kurum admitted yesterday that it has stopped work in two of the most important, profitable segments in the production process; has notified the workers of termination of the contract and continuation of payment for another three months – enough time for her toys! What impressed me yesterday was the statement about economic difficulties; so not with bankruptcy – it was consumed once, but economic difficulties!!! Wow, how so? What was the financial result of Kurum for 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023? Coming out of the earthquake and entering the reconstruction, accompanied by high growth in the private construction sector but also in public investments, Kurum has not had a year with a loss, it has been with a profit! Then?! How is it possible?! Where have the profits gone?! Look, Kurum made this game once, much bigger – with the bankruptcy, an event that must be verified today whether it was closed in accordance with the law or not; should not be allowed to do it with! Especially by taking the workers hostage”, says the reaction of the SP deputy.

We remind you that the Prosecutor’s Office of Durrës landed yesterday near the offices of the “Kurum” company in Elbasan and seized documentation, which is believed to be related to the issue of hundreds of tons of suspected hazardous waste, which were exported from the port of Durrës to Thailand.

The suspected export of hazardous waste from Albania was denounced on August 5 by Basel Action Network, an environmental organization based in the United States.
