As today, 16 years ago, a special day was marked for all Albanians, Kosovo was declared an independent state.
On February 17, 2008, Sunday, in the Assembly of Kosovo, former president Hashim Thaçi read the Declaration of Independence declaring Kosovo “an independent and democratic state”.
A new state was added to the Balkans that day.
Kosovo, now independent, began to be recognized by friendly countries.
Kosovo has already achieved the liberalization of visas, where citizens enjoy free travel in the European Union.
The state agenda has planned honors, tributes and concerts to mark Kosovo’s Independence.
