The Central Election Commission has given the mandate of deputy to Arben Ahmetaj, a member of the Municipal Council of Tirana, Plarent Ndreca.

“Decides on awarding the mandate of the deputy of the Republic of Albania, the next candidate of the list of many names of the Socialist Party, for the electoral area of ​​Tirana district, Plarent Ndrecës.

Against this decision, appeals can be made to the Appeals and Sanctions Commission within 30 days from the announcement of the decision. This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the official notebook”, said the head of the CEC, Ilir Celibashi.

The decision was taken after the director of Cadastre, Dallandyshe Bici, refused to take Ahmetaj’s place in Parliament. While Plarent Ndreca accepted the mandate of the deputy, after the announcement of the vacancy by the Assembly due to the end of the mandate of the former deputy prime minister before the constitutional deadline, as he has been on the run for 6 months.

Plarent Ndreca will sit in the deputy’s chair under the SP logo in the Assembly, while the procedures as defined by the law will have to be respected, until his oath.

Meanwhile, Bici refused the mandate, keeping the current position of Cadastre director, and informed the CEC through a letter on January 11.

“With letter no. 43/1 prot., dated 9.1.2024 with the subject “Notice for submission of documentation”, which I became aware of on 10.1.2024, I was notified of the filing of the self-declaration form with the Central Election Commission.

From the above, I inform you that I will not follow the relevant legal procedures for obtaining the mandate of the deputy in the Assembly of Albania, due to my commitment to the functional task that I currently exercise in the central institution”, she said in the letter filed with the CEC. .
