The police have arrested Astrit Avdyli, the leader of Shijak’s group.
It is learned that Astrit Avdyli, who was wanted as part of the SPAK mega-operation where 50 arrest warrants were issued, was handcuffed at his house in Shijak.
We recall that the Special Prosecutor’s Office issued 50 arrest warrants for persons suspected of being part of 7 criminal gangs, of which 14 were executed in Albania, and 6 more in Italy, Germany, Spain and Belgium. The “Revenge” operation took place on May 17 and 18, and a good part of the persons against whom arrest warrants were issued have been abroad for a long time.
The list of wanted persons also includes the former socialist deputy Arben Ndoka, suspected of being the leader of one of the groups, as well as the brother and relative of another majority deputy, Eduard Ndreca.
According to SPAK, the characteristic of these groups is brutal violence in committing crimes. Investigations have revealed the connections between them, the alliances and enmities that have been the source of murders and attempted murders, among the members of the groups.
During the operation for the execution of the arrest warrants, checks were carried out in 50 apartments in Tirana, Durrës, Vlora, Shkodër, Lezhë, Rëshen, Kurbin, Fushë-Krujë and Krujë, where the bases of the groups were.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office announced that it has seized armored vehicles, jewelry, gold bars and monetary values, for a total of nearly 4.5 million euros, of which 3 million euros are cash.
Recruiting hitman to eliminate opponents
The investigations showed that Ervis Martinaj, who disappeared without a trace since August 2022, made an alliance with the criminal group led by the former socialist deputy Arben Ndoka.
Their goal was to execute the opponents and one of them, Durim Bami.
Arben Ndoka suspected that Durim Bami had participated in the murder of his brother, Aleksandër Ndoka, while Martinaj suspected that he collaborated with his opponents, Indrit Dokle and Leonard Duka.
Emiljano Shullazit and Astri Avdyli, who were in the cell at the time, came to the aid of Ervis Martinaj and Arben Ndoka for Durim Bami’s head.
Emiljano Shullazi contacted one of his confidants about Bami’s murder, as well as providing information about his movements and sending it to Arben Ndoka.
However, the assassination attempts on Durim Bam failed. The latter, on the other hand, appears in open conflict with Martinaj and Ndoka’s groups. Durim Bami made an alliance with the groups of Martinaj’s opponents led by Leonard Duka and Indrit Doklen and attempted to kill Martinaj, but failed until the rest of the gambling disappeared without a trace.
Bami also tried to kill Arben Ndoka. During this time, Durim Bami with the help of former RENEA officer Altin Morina cultivated narcotics.
