The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has also spoken about his successor at the head of the DP.
Asked who his successor would be, Berisha stressed that the leader of a party has a clear mission according to him, to lead the party to victory and not to create a copy of himself.
He added that this is the right of the members of the DP to choose the leader they prefer.
“This is the right of the members of the DP to choose who they like. I will respect what the membership chooses,” Berisha said.
Asked if it will be one of his family members, he explained that there is no candidate from his family for this position, mentioning that neither his daughter, nor his son, nor his son-in-law are included in any list to lead the party.
Berisha also stressed that his political commitment has always been in the interest of the party and not for personal gain.
“The leader of a political party has a mission to lead the party to victory, not to try to create a copy of it. This is the right of the members of the DP to choose who they like.
I will respect what the membership chooses. There is no candidate within my family. My daughter follows politics from her private life, she did not enter any list, nor did my son-in-law or son,” said the chief democrat./news24
