The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu said that the government has supported and will continue to support the champions with rewards, including the athlete Luiza Gega.
At the end of the government meeting, Manastirliu was asked about the statements made by the Albanian athlete, who says that she started the year 2024 without the rewards that belong to her.
To this question, the minister answered by saying that Luiza Gega is supported not only in terms of rewards, but also in terms of creating conditions for preparation.
“The Albanian government, the Ministry of Education is committed to supporting elite athletes, including our champion Luiza Gega. We have shown support not only for Luiza Gegë regarding those aspects of the rewards approved in the structure that coordinates those criteria of the sports law. In addition to the rewards, our athletes, including our champion athlete Luiza Gega, are also supported by all aspects that pertain not only to the sports law, but also as support to the masts in the FA corps with the specified rank and we will continue to support in the competition where she had high results.
During the year 2022-2023, we have supported the champion in the Balkan and European competitions in 13 support awards and we will continue to evaluate it as we have always evaluated it. Support through rewards as well as through the provision of conditions for preparation is an absolute priority. The assessment for the specific case of Luiza will not be missing”, said the Minister of Education.
