Former minister Ylli Manjani said that the opposition should have ready the name of the candidate for prime minister by now, when we are about a year before the start of the electoral campaign.
Manjani made the comments on the show “Now with Erla Mëhillin” on Euronews Albania, where he told the deputy of the DP, Flamur Noka, that Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha cannot be candidates for prime minister.
He added that the selection of the name of the candidate for prime minister now would help to create the winning team, schemes and agreements before the elections.
“Today we are about a year before the electoral campaign for the 2025 elections. In this situation, all preliminary political calculations are made in function of the election day. Now let’s see where we are. Who communicates more with the public, on a variety of public-related topics.
The opposition has had many challenges within itself, but the question being asked is ‘is Berisha a candidate for prime minister?’ I think not. ‘Is Basha a candidate for prime minister?’ Even more so no. I think the opposition should have the name of the next prime minister ready today. To begin to create his team, to calculate the effects of sui generin agreements.
What happened to Berisha and SPAK is unacceptable. But what should we do beyond that? What is the solution we are offering?
