The Special Prosecutor’s Office has reacted after the circulation of the news in several media about the release of 19 security measures, including the mayor Veliaj, and the arrest of several officials of the Municipality of Tirana.
In a press release, SPAK stated that there was no operation during the night, asking to avoid speculation.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office states that a series of investigations are ongoing to fight corruption.
“Let me inform you about the news published yesterday in some of the media:
SPAK is following a series of investigations to fight corruption and protect the public. There has been no overnight operation and we kindly ask you to avoid speculations that could harm our work.
The moment we have announcements to share with the media, you will definitely be informed”, informs SPAK.
Late last night, news spread about “Important Developments”, and that the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime had given 19 security measures, including Mayor Veliaj, namely house arrest, but also prison arrest includes politicians and other people of important, again within the Tirana Incinerator file.
