Odeta Barbullushi, advisor to the Prime Minister, was invited to the show “The Unexposed” on MCN TV, where the Ukrainian Summit held in Tirana was discussed.
Barbullushi was asked about the presence of Alex Soros, behind Edi Rama’s back at the Summit table, which raised questions about his role in this Summit, but also in other meetings.
Barbullushi said that Soros was just an observer.
Excerpts from the studio conversation:
Andi Tela: What was the status of Alex Soros at the Summit?
Ylli Rakipi: Not only in this Summit but also in many other meetings.
Odeta Barbullushi: He was at the level of an observer, he did not speak and was not a participant at the table. First, part of the team means being part of the delegation and was not part of the delegation. There are regional organizations that help for European integration, intergovernmental organizations. He was at the same meeting in Skopje as an observer. Without going into details, because this is talking about the participation of an organization. These were part of the implementation of processes, democratization, peace, etc.
If we compare it, the contribution he made was in the early 90s and it is significant. All the participating countries interact with it the same way as we do and don’t mind being part of it as an observer. He is a participant in very prestigious conferences, so I don’t know why there is this kind of sensitivity in our context.
Neritan Sejamini: The one in the White House is private. If it were not so, it becomes a scandal. Visits to the White House are private, but they too become the subject of discussion. The organizations you mentioned are intergovernmental. There is something contradictory about his being there. It does not happen in any country in the world, to be behind the leaders, as it was behind the President of the USA. This is not normal.
