In today’s extraordinary meeting of the municipal council, this investment, strongly opposed by farmers of several villages of Roskovec and Dimal, was approved amid fierce debates, who rose up in a protest on Sunday.
They have unanimously called the construction of this power plant deadly in their area, stressing that its presence will destroy an agricultural area of 700 ha with greenhouses.
In the previous meeting of the municipal council, this project has aroused many debates and was defeated by a majority of cards from left and right councilors. In support of the residents, today the representatives of the environmental associations have joined the protest, who have described this investment as an ecological bomb.
