Plarent Ndreca is the youngest deputy of the Assembly of Albania, who took the mandate of the SP deputy, Arben Ahmetaj. The day before, Ndreca was sworn in as a member of the SP, amidst the chaos and noise created by the members of the opposition, who again did not allow a normal session to take place.
He said that even though he was sworn in in this “atmosphere”, he did his duty, which, according to him, the opposition does not do. Asked if he thinks it is a bad omen or a good omen that Ahmetaj, who is on the run, has received the mandate, he said that he is not impressed and that receiving the mandate was a procedure.
“I did my duty and each of the members of that important institution had to do their duty. I think the majority is doing its job, while the opposition is not. Ahmetaj was a member of the SP. For his reasons, he was absent, and after the loss of the mandate, it is the procedure to call the next candidate. Because of Dallandyshe Bici’s refusal, he asked me to take it. Absolutely, I am pleased because it is the highest task for a person who has been involved in political engagement for years. There you are part of a collegial body, it is not easy to impose your objectives on them. But I will try to increase the quality of acts and our legal culture, both in communication and in the approach of institutions. It’s been years that I’ve been doing political discourse in different studios, and I’ve said that there is no politics over the constitution. It is not placed above the law, the law is above every policy, and we must try to approach the EU with a mentality,” said Ndreca.
