The waters in the aquarium of the port of Durrës are polluted after the rupture of the oil pressure pipe on a commercial ship.
It is known that the ship suffered a defect and the polluted water surface was cleaned by the services of the responsible agency.
In the meantime, proceedings began in a free state, for the criminal offense “Air, water and land pollution”, for the ship’s captain P. L., 48 years old, resident in Russia, the chief mechanic A. S., 35 years old, resident in Romania and the second mechanic V. F. , 63 years old, resident of Russia.

Port, Durrës/ The waters in the aquarium of the port were polluted, due to a defect in the ship they are responsible for, 3 foreign citizens, namely the captain, the chief engineer and the second engineer, are being prosecuted.
The contaminated water surface was cleaned by the services of the responsible agency.
Immediately after the notification of water pollution at quay no. 7 of the port of Durrës, the specialists of the Border Police, in cooperation with those of the Port Captain’s Office, IKMT and the environment, carried out verifications to bring the responsible citizens to justice.
For the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, where proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense “Air, water and soil pollution”, for the citizens P. L., 48 years old, resident in Russia, A. S., 35 years old, resident in Romania and V. F., 63 years old, resident in Russia.
The criminal proceedings for these citizens started because the verifications showed that the water pollution was caused by the rupture of the oil pressure pipe of the merchant ship, in which the citizen P. L. is the captain, the citizen A. S. is the chief engineer, while the citizen V. F. is the second engineer.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions.
