Belind Këlliçi spoke on the Noon News by Denisa Pasholli on A2 CNN about the election date and consultations with the president. He refuted Bajram Begaj’s statement the day before, which stated that there had been consultations with all the actors directly or indirectly.

Këlliçi categorically denied that there had been any contact with the president from representatives of the Democratic Party about the election date. He called it a “momentary blunder by the head of state”.

“I have no idea what Edi Rama’s captor is talking about. You’d do well to ask Edi Rama’s captor. To my knowledge, no one officially on behalf of the opposition has contacted him and refused to become a farce of this process decided long ago by the Minister of Gangs, Taulant Balla, two months ago. It is a momentary blunder by the state captor. Zero, we have not had any contact. Apparently, it has been decided to become part of the political game of the majority”, said Këlliçi on A2.

So what would change the date of May 4 from the date of May 11 for holding the elections?

“It is not a question of date, but it is a question of guarantees, a question of process, so that we go into an electoral process where politics and organized crime do not interfere. The issue is that the diaspora really has the opportunity to vote since the process is being deliberately prolonged by the majority because they know that they are against the diaspora. The point is that the technical government is a necessity today to have free and fair elections.

Citizens should go to choose the right alternative without the pressure of gangs, nor from the buying and selling of votes, nor from the pressure of the public administration. This is a matter of principles and constitutionality. We demand free and fair elections, it is that simple”, said Këlliçi.
