“I was shouting at him ‘why did you rape my child’ and he was making fun of me. I let him into my house, I helped him financially, and he destroyed my child and our life,” said Fatmir Tarellari, who killed his brother-in-law, Erjon Pelivani, after discovering that he had raped his 18-year-old daughter for 9 years.
The 50-year-old, who was released from the cell under the security measure of “house arrest” by the Greek court, has described for the investigators the entire nightmare he experienced since January 7, when he was informed by the owner of the house where his daughter lived that the rent was not was paid.
The girl was at her sister’s house in Volos, when her father asked for an explanation, but they did not answer the phone.
After he failed to contact the 18-year-old, he went to meet his two daughters.
In the conversation between the father and the daughter, the 18-year-old told the father that she had taken the rent money from a person who had sexually abused and raped her in the past and now threatened him that if he did not give the money he would tell the family and to the whole world the photos and videos she had, where she was filmed by the 33-year-old during the sexual act.
But the girl has not revealed the name of the person who has raped and blackmailed her. However, the 50-year-old supported his daughter and stood by her side.
He didn’t think for a moment about the closed social environment they lived in and asked her to file a lawsuit, while also asking her for a psychologist.
The 50-year-old blamed himself for not realizing what had happened and what his child was experiencing for so many years.
He became obsessed with finding out who had sexually abused and raped his daughter, according to his testimony to investigators.
Last Tuesday morning, the 18-year-old finally revealed the identity of her rapist.
“I supported him, I helped him financially, I let him into my house and he raped my child. The feeling of betrayal was added to my difficult mental state.”
Unable to manage what was happening, he left Volos to return to Argalasti.
He could not rest there and wanted to ask his brother-in-law for an explanation. Knowing his violent past, he took with him the rifle he legally possesses, Fatmir Tarellari is said to have said.
He did not call the 33-year-old himself as they did not have much contact, but he told his wife to call him and go help him to change the tire of the car near the entrance of Volos.
The 33-year-old parked the car on the opposite side of the road, passed it and headed towards the 50-year-old.
“Why did you rape me and destroy my daughter”, shouted the 50-year-old when he saw her.
But his brother-in-law, not only did not give any explanation, but on the contrary he smiled and running, constantly changing directions, tried to attack him and take his gun.
How does he describe the killer?
In order to protect himself, the 50-year-old said that he hit the 33-year-old in the head and chest with the barrel of the gun and he fell to the ground.
But Erjon Pelivani got up and attacked him again. Then the 33-year-old man, according to the author’s testimony, tried to take his gun away, but during the fight the trigger was pulled and he was shot dead.
He returned to Volos, went to his daughter’s house without revealing what had happened, and from there went to his lawyer’s office.
“I called the police to find out what had happened. Then I surrendered”, he concluded the testimony.
