The leader of LZHK Dashamir Shehu has stated that the only way for the opposition to win in the 2025 elections is not to unite around a leader, but for each group to enter the race alone.
Invited to News 24, he said that they are working on the creation of a new group, which could also be a coalition, in order to enter the elections. He explained that after the elections the opposition groups can unite to form the new government and that the group with the most supporters can decide on the name of the prime minister.
He added that the platform is ready and that the first goal is the return of a normal life in the Parliament.
“Confederation of the opposition? I am not part of it, we did not agree. We have been invited to join, but I do not agree because I think this is not the way. Within the opposition we have 2-3 groups, I think that in the 2025 elections, the opposition should offer the citizens as many choices as possible. I do not think that unification with a leadership is more valuable for the opposition, it is a tried and tested scheme and it has no result.
The path to success for the Albanian opposition, and why it seems absurd, is not to unite around one man, it is to enter the elections with several groups.
The time has come to blaze a new trail. When the elections are over, let’s create a joint government. Each group receives the support that the other group receives, this will also bring victory.
