Jonida Proga, the sister of Egli Proga who was raped to death two days ago in Pogradec, blames the ambulance and the State Police for not reacting quickly to the incident.
In a statement to the media, she states that the police stated that her brother had fallen, while according to her, the signs of violence were clearly visible.
She says that even the ambulance was late to the scene, adding that the police did not even put tapes on the place where her brother died, that according to her, they wanted to hide the incident. She describes her brother as calm and loving.
“My aunt’s son called me and told me to go to the hospital urgently. I run there, I go to the emergency room, I see Egli lying, butchered. The doctors were giving him the last aid, we could not accept what had happened until the doctors said to remove the devices. I went out in shock, I asked the police what happened and they told me he fell.
They talked about the part that fell down until we don’t know, but they didn’t say that we released people, we are collecting evidence, we are taking the cameras, we are asking witnesses. The police moved too late. It means that they were moved by others to behave like this. Nothing yet, the information has only been received from the media. Good thing I read that he died in a drunken state from the fall, because I don’t know how I would handle it.
It was clear that he had been raped, but no one said that he had been raped. They killed him, massacred him in the middle of the road in a herd, abandoned him, left him.
