The acting mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, was arrested on March 23, after being accused that in cooperation with subordinates and Cadastre officials, through forged documents, they enabled the transfer of significant areas of state land in Himara, in favor of private individuals, assets that currently are owned by a company owned by Artan Gaçi, the husband of former minister Olta Xhaçka, who has acquired the status of a strategic investor.
Yesterday, he was transferred from his cell to the prison hospital after he developed health problems.
Journalist Anduena Llabani showed on the Now show in Euronews Albania that detention center 313, where many senior officials arrested for various affairs have been taken, is old and has a marked lack of infrastructure.
This, according to her, has caused the arrested officials to constantly complain that they have health problems and have asked to be transferred to the prison hospital.
“Te 313 is an institution that has been a building for many years, there is a lack of ventilated rooms, there is a lack of infrastructure, some of the officials who did not think they would ever end up there, have breathing problems. Such a thing happened to Brecan, and his case is true as far as I know. Goro’s lawyer told me that his client had no health problems and his transfer was made after the request he personally made to the prison administration”, said the journalist.
