Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with members of the Albanian community in Luxembourg.

During his speech, Rama said that he was not very familiar with the context, the way of life and their problems there and added that he wanted to be informed more.

Regarding the vote of immigrants, Rama said that it is currently impossible since Albania does not have a data register of Albanians in different countries of the world.

“I really appreciate that you took the trouble to be here and I don’t want to give you a speech because I believe that it is more reasonable to spend this time in the form of a conversation. I cannot claim to know well the context where you live and the problems you have.

The immigrant vote is not a matter of wishes, but of the database. Today we do not have a register of Albanians around the world. We have made several attempts, but… This issue of the database hinders us a lot to make it possible for immigrants to vote”, said Rama.

Meanwhile, in a post on Facebook, Rama wrote that the Albanian community in Luxembourg is best integrated in the administration, banks and large companies.

“Luxembourg – The special pleasure of talking with members of the Albanian community in Luxembourg, compatriots who have been integrated for years in the administration, banks, large companies of the Grand Duchy, full of passion for Albania and the desire to contribute to the country”. Rama wrote on Facebook.
